Why Use an Age Calculator?
Age is the current local date minus the birth date. When the birthday has not occurred yet this year, the year count drops by one and the month and day are borrowed from the previous month. The result is exact to the day in the browser time zone.
How to Calculate Age Manually
A manual count uses the same three steps as the calculator:
- Take the birth date and the current local date.
- Subtract the birth year from the current year.
- If the current month is earlier than the birth month, or the months match and the current day is earlier, subtract one year and borrow months and days.
